Having mastered the cross country drive, we are working on perfecting the stops. Meals in the car saves 30 minutes; gassing up before Paducah means you won't be turning the radio off and praying the fumes carry you through Illinois. Union Station in Kansas City is the perfect place to stretch your legs.
While we did pass on the worked eat biggest ball of twine in Cawker City, Ks (the biggest ball of string is in Minnesota), we did stop to see a fish within a fish fossil. As Kansas has its own evolution museum (who'd a thunk that?).
